The avid angler requires lots of gear so they can fish all day. Being able to transport and access it all efficiently is extremely important when trekking in and out of secret spots and reeling in the catch of the day.
WHO IS THE AVID ANGLER?
Wakes up early in the morning to spend the entirety of the day on the water.
Needs easy and quick accessibility to lures and gear to adapt to changes in the environment.
Frequently switches spots and bodies of water to find the bite and make their catch.
What the Angler Needs.
Fishing gear - Lures, soft bait, spare line, knife, and hooks.
First Aid - Bandages, antiseptic, and sunscreen.
Daily Essentials - Food, polarized sunglasses, wallet, and phone.

Front bag with three separate spot for designated items.

Cross-body bag with two different modes of transportation.
BREADBOARD
FLAT PATTERN
The breadboard determined the scale and organization of the final bag, and informed the creation of the flat pattern. The flat pattern was hand-fabricated and sewn.
FINAL PROTOTYPE.
The final prototype was created with multiple functions in mind. All modes of use were considered for optimizing the fishing experience. The bag can be strapped to the rod, worn in the front of the user and worn on the back. When hiking into a spot, the bag is best used on the rod to free one hand of the angler and keep the bag from snagging on brush. When working with a fish, the bag is best worn on the front to have access to the tackle box. When actively fishing, the bag is best worn on the back to ensure full range of motion when casting.
